Six nights in New York, but only one with neither a work nor family commitment! How can I possibly choose between Sondheim's Opening Doors at Carnegie's Zankel Hall, Ben Heppner doing Otello at the Met, the NY Early Music Celebration, the Mingus Big Band, and Drew Lachey in Rent?! (Just kidding.) If only the Puffy Amiyumi concert at Webster Hall were a day earlier, the decision would be painless despite the surfeit of options.

the ny early music celebration is giving you
attendance anxiety?! personally -- and you know
how i feel about these things -- i'd take 'otello.'

not sure if you have gone to ny yet. mingus big band is the last holdout for real jazz in the world. see them before they vanish.
