Cary John Franklin's whimsical setting of this poem by Wendy Cope was one of the highlights of the last Chanticleer concert I went to. (If memory serves correctly, they opened the second half with it.) So how fun is it that Kurt Elling recorded it for Man in the Air, singing all of the parts? Audio sample here. I myself am also very fond of poets and bananas! Am I a poet? (Or am I a banana?)
