Forza

A fine way to end the year at SF Opera last night. Full post if I have time, but for now I'll just say Forza made me very happy. And please bring back Nicola Luisotti, soon.

~~~~~~
Bonus track: I saw him! I saw him! I was walking up California after the show, and caught that immediately identifiable trenchcoat out of the corner of my eye. I tracked him into the Cala on Hyde, but he dallied too long in the dairy section so I got bored and went home.
I'm squinting, I'm squinting...did you seriously get an orchestra seat after going standing room? Some kind patron? Lucky dog! And if it weren't for the trench coat, I'd say "that guy" is Recital Man. But Recital Man is all about the tweed sport jacket, not the trench.
Yeah, Nicola is not only a godly Verdi conductor, but he's sorta dreamy too.
did you seriously get an orchestra seat after going standing room?
And after Act I, no less! It's all about positioning. (Tip: Click on the photo to ease eye strain.)
I can't speak for Nicola's dreaminess, but my word, does good conducting ever make a difference.
You're going to write up the Forza, I hope? The Fidelio pan was, as much noted, much fun.
p.s. your standing room is cheaper than ours, I can't help but notice.
