One of the "Kurogo" black ninja supernumerariess had a nervous breakdown last week and I was thrown into the show at the last minute to run around moving screens about and delivering props (pillow and kimono, to be exact), and am thrilled you spent $20 (for two!) to see me. And that Racette diva. And the rest of those singers.
It's completely impossible to know what to make of the show once you're inside it, where it feels like a wild red womb. I'm curious how it read to you in lovely Row F.

And congratulations on using your beauty and winsomeness for good. In other words, for attracting the kindness of strangers and friends.

You are an orchestra seat magnet. I'm sure someone would have tried to give you another one for Figaro too, with your luck.

ah, with my luck he'd turn out to be married... ;)

hopefully i'll find time to give full impressions at some point, but brava to pat racette for creating a full person out of cio-cio. her butterfly came across as a thoroughly fleshed out character making real choices, rather than a cartoonish moony little 18-y-o that you want to smack. a very fine, affecting, theatrical, engaging performance. all around, really, but pat racette especially. (she, however, could use some extra pearl cream.)

Thank you for the Suzie Wong pearl cream link. I now feel confident marching into an aging future. And yes, Ms. Racette really is giving an awesome performance.
Did you go to the Stud last night, by the way, where Bjork was reportedly hanging out with Matmos after their Matthew Barney show-and-tell at the Modern Art thingie? If so, we [your fans] need a report.

Ah CRAP. Mme T— left me a voice mail while I was in a meeting last night, passing along an unsubstantiated rumor that Björk was going to be at The Stud. But I was so exhausted when I got the message at 10:30pm that I just went home and went to bed. I am now officially the lamest person in the world.
